WE are PRoud
We are delighted and PRoud to announce that we won two silver awards in the recent CIPR New PRide Awards held at NewcastleGateshead Hilton and are officially amongst the best PR practitioners in the UK.
The PRide Awards is the only awards scheme that showcases the best PR work being done outside of London. It spans 22 categories from Corporate Communications to Best Use of New Media.
2007 is the first year Fawthrop McLanders has entered the awards and having been short listed for two categories: Best Publication - The Life of the Dunston Staiths and Outstanding Young Communicator – Rachel Harrison were over the moon to be recognised in both. The team celebrated with several drinks, whoops and cheers, high fives and ridiculous dance moves.
The panel of judges commented that The Life of the Dunston Staiths was: “An excellent publication that gives a beautiful pictorial history of Dunston Staiths. It clearly demonstrates the developer’s commitment to the heritage of Dunston Staiths. A very different and innovative way to showcase house building. Excellent use of photography – old and new – in a well designed contemporary looking publication – professional and really interesting.” You can see more details under case studies.
They also said that: “Rachel is an accomplished communicator who can import information with accuracy and a style which proves appealing to her chosen audience. She is clearly passionate about PR and loves her role in the North East, excelling particularly in press work. She is able to take initiative at technical and strategy levels as well as develop relationships. Rachel will develop her future leadership qualities.”
If you visit our office you may wonder why only one of our shiny new awards is on display, as the evening’s compere pointed out the silver award for Outstanding Young Communicator was broken in transit, he added hopefully that this is no omen for Rachel’s career. Phew. A new one should be with us soon.
